Parabur-duathlon

Start stretching now to be ready for the inaugural Paraburduathlon on Sunday, December 7.

Health and Wellness Coordinator Lochy Jones says the spirit of the event is to get everyone in the community involved and is reflected in the various event categories.

"The events range from a 1km swim and 7.5km run/walk to a 200m swim and 2km run/walk," he said. "You can enter with a mate and we’re sure some will definitely ‘pound the pavement’ while others will enjoy a nice stroll."

Competitors will don their goggles for a few lengths in the Paraburdoo pool, followed by a walk/run around the town with winner’s presentations and a sausage sizzle.

"There will be buses available to bring people across from Tom Price so we should have a few competitors on the day," Lochy said.

"The bus leaves at 6am with the first race starting at 7am, so we will avoid the heat of the day and Tom Price people can get a bus back about 11.30am."
