Safe Driving: Tires Under Pressure

Over or under-inflated tyres, or tyres filled to different pressures, are a major cause of vehicle accidents under all driving conditions.

There are two types of monitoring systems. The most accurate uses sensors in each tyre to monitor pressure and transmit the status to the driver’s display. The second links into the vehicles anti-lock braking system and uses tyre rotation speed to calculate inflation.

Properly inflated tyres mean better road holding, shorter breaking distances, improved comfort and above all greater safety for you and your passengers. Incorrect tyre pressure has been linked to a high rate of accidents, as well as increased fuel consumption and vehicle pollution, costing you money and ruining the environment.
