A close shave!

MARCH is the month of wacky haircuts – or lack of hair entirely – as brave souls take part in the World’s Greatest Shave.

Run by the Leukaemia Foundation, the World’s Greatest Shave raises much-needed funds for Australians living with a blood cancer. Rio Tinto has once again registered a team in the initiative’s Mine Challenge.

Last year, Rio Tinto was the highest fundraiser in the State with Yandicoogina taking out the Mine Challenge. This year, the aim is to raise even more.

An award will be presented to the site in each state and territory deemed the highest fundraiser within the Mine Challenge.

Funds raised by the Rio Tinto Mine Challenge team will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000 by the organisation.

To show your support:

  • Go to http://www.worldsgreatestshave.com/businesses/minechallenge.php
  • Click on the Rio Tinto team name.
  • Select your site from the Rio Tinto drop-down menu.
  • Choose “Sponsor Team” on top left-hand side of page and follow the prompts.

To view official World’s Greatest Shave events in your area, go to http://www.worldsgreatestshave.com/events/list.php?state=WA.

For more information on events and initiatives supported by Rio Tinto in Western Australia, go to www.ciwa.riotinto.com.
