Get moving for life

The way we live can influence the number of ‘healthy’ years lost in a lifetime because of either early death or a disability. Smoking is the Number 1 life shortener with a lack of physical activity following closely at Number 2.

So here are some words of wisdom from Glenn.

  • Exercise greatly reduces the chance of early death. In fact, it appears to add six quality years to your life. That’s an extra six years to laugh at what sports commentators say.
  • Exercise burns up body fat and helps you to avoid getting plump.
  • Exercise raises endorphin levels so that you feel good (endorphins are happy chemicals released by the brain). These are the same chemicals released when you eat really great food like chocolate or pizza.
  • Exercise cranks up your brain and improves your self-esteem. Fit people generally don’t feel grumpy.

So if you are planning to start an early health ‘spring clean’, follow Glenn’s advice and reap the rewards.
