If you find it difficult to exercise during the day then you may just need some extra motivation. A good way to find out exactly how much you are doing now and how much you need to do to stay fit is by using a pedometer.
A pedometer is a small device that counts the number of steps you take in a day and provides that extra incentive by letting you know how much energy you are burning.
"You would think that someone like an exercise physiologist would take a lot of steps during the day but you would be surprised. A pedometer is a great way to take the guesswork out of counting your steps," said Wickham’s Prime Health exercise physiologist Faye Padmore.
Wickham have started a pedometer challenge aiming to get employees on site hitting the 10,000 steps a day mark. It sounds like a lot but taking the long way to work, getting off the bus early or walking 30 to 40 minutes at the end of the day can help you reach your exercise goals.
