Shake, rattle and roll

If you work in light vehicles or trucks all day then you would be keenly aware of the impact that vibration has on your body.

Whole body vibration, if left unassessed and untreated, can lead to long term conditions such as lower back pain, digestive problems, visual impairment and problems with inner ear functions.

Whole body vibration is a health risk for people working on site and can be minimised by following correct procedures such as:

  1. Taking regular breaks to untwist and unwind.
  2. Having your work area assessed for both vibration risk and ergonomics.
  3. Taking 5 minutes to assess the risk of injury.

Consult your site health and safety advisor for an assessment and advice on vibration minimisation stratagies.
