Healthy people healthy planet

Pilbara Iron has been working towards sustainability for years, building processes and practices that will not only benefit the company but the wider Australian community. In layman’s terms, sustainability is about developing everyday habits that help to build a healthy environment for the future.

Pilbara Iron’s Corporate Health Specialist Elaine Lindars said:

“Health and safety is an integral element of the sustainability equation, especially safe work practices. Its clichéd but the health of our planet is integral to our health.”

World renowned geneticist and best selling author David Suzuki believes sustainability means living within the earth’s limits, improving our health and well-being by reducing and eliminating pollution and waste to find long term solutions to health and environmental problems now rather than later.
